This was a fun painting to do, as I was playing around with a spattering technique for the foliage, as well as the texture on the path.

I have enjoyed drawing since childhood, and have been painting in watercolour since 2002. I really enjoy the transparency of watercolour, and like to experiment with combining watercolour with other media. In the past few years, I have also been working in pastel, and mixed media. In whatever I do, my desire is point others to the beauty and wonder that our Creator has given us to enjoy, that they may come to see His beauty and stand in awe of Him!

Thank you, Carole! Just wondering....are there any cute or quaint little cafes or stores in Montreal that you haven't painted yet??? LOL!

Hi Lynn, Love the obvious fun you had painting this one, shimmering and delicate. Excellent. The counter painting you commented on is of the interior of Wilenskys cafe, one of our more infamous little places. The food is nothing to write home about, unlike you enjoy heartburn with your fries, but the ambiance and charm of the place is unforgettable. The movie Duddy Kravitz, a 1970'S coming of age movie, staring Richard Dreyfus was filmed using Wilenskys as an important element of the movie. Last year a C.T.V. reporter did a televised piece of me and my paintings and chose a print I had done of Wilenskys cafe, and brought it to the owner, I got to see her happy reaction right on my t.v. screen. Just thought you might enjoy a bit of Montreal cultural history. Thanks always for your visits and I do love your watercolors.

Thanks so much, Karin! This one was fun -- an artist firend and I were outside on a lovely fall day, to do the spattering. Great fun, but unfortunately, it was a bit windy and we ended up wearing more paint than we got on our paintings!
